Edible Cookie Dough (Safe to eat as dough!)
I’m a big time sucker for cookie dough! I love chocolate chip cookie dough far more than the cooked cookies. Of course, we are always told not to eat cookie dough raw. The reason, of course, because of the raw eggs. That has never stopped me from making and eating cookie dough, though. I’ve learned to swap out the egg for extra liquid and leave out the other ingredients that are only for baking and the taste is nearly identical but I’m not longer worried about getting sick from raw eggs. So, here’s how I made my edible Cookie Dough!

Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/14 cup sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 1/4 cups flour
- water
- 1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
Beat together butter and both sugars until creamed and smooth. Add in vanilla and salt. Slowly mix in flour until well blended. Add 1/2 cup to 1 cup of water, depending on desired consistency. Finally, mix in your chocolate chips until just blended. Store in a sealed container in the fridge. The dough tastes even better cooled!
I prefer the dough a bit stickier, so I add closer to a cup of water. My husband on the other hand prefers the dough a bit drier as it is easier to scoop or even grab a pinch right from the dish. You can add less water to make it a drier dough. The drier dough also works better for adding the dough to other goodies like ice cream.

This may not be a healthy recipe, but it’s definitely a fun one. Keep in mind, I’m not a nutritionist or offering any guarantees on safety as I’m not the FDA. The dough is yummy, though, so enjoy!

YUM! YUM! YUM! Yes, I have been known to eat the dough instead of baking the cookies. My waistline will attest to it.
What a fun way to make it OK to eat the dough! I found this lovely recipe on the In and Out of the Kitchen link party and thought I’d stop by. I am currently doing a call out for no-bake recipes on my recipe link party, The Yuck Stops Here and would love it if you would bring this recipe and any of your other no-bake favorites to the party! The party starts tonight (Tuesday) at 8pm ET and can be found on my blog, Hot Momma’s Kitchen Chaos. I hope to see you there! HUGS
Everyone knows the best part about making cookies is eating all the dough but we all know we shouldn’t be eating raw eggs. This is the best!!! Thanks for sharing it on Mix It Up Mondays!
