On Saturday we went to a community hosted Easter Egg hunt… let me just say those things are a joke! It wasn’t fun at all!!! There were SOOO many kids and the big bully kids of the age group ran ahead and took all the candy and most kids ended up with one or none!! It was very disappointing and not because I wanted them to have loads of candy but because they didn’t get to experience a “hunt” so we held our own! Sunday morning they went out in the backyard to do a hunt. I had put candy inside the eggs and then I had just tossed a bunch of twix mini candy bars out as well. It was so funny because my 3.5 year old Nathan wanted NOTHING to do with any of the plastic eggs and if he happened to pick one up he put it in his brother’s basket. He was all about picking up the twix candy bars though! He thought there was nothing in the eggs I guess. They were super cute. Tyler ended up with a LOADED basket though because he got to get all the eggs!
Sunday we had a church-wide conference that we could watch by Internet or TV so we got to stay home and relax and go to church! That was nice! So in between conference meetings we dyed Easter eggs. I got to say that’s overrated as well! I put the dye tablets into the bowls and Tyler instantly grabs the yellow one and pops it into his mouth! Yup.. BRIGHT yellow mouth!! I grabbed it instantly out of his mouth but it didn’t matter. It was actually very funny! Then the kids kept dipping their hands in the dye and splashing it on the table. It really ended up being ME dying the eggs while frantically trying to keep them to just watching! Not sure if we’ll do that again! They did enjoy it though.. I guess it’s why we do these things!
