Hotel Grand Pacific Review

I received a complimentary stay at the Hotel Grand Pacific in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

Hotel Grand Pacific received a certificate of excellence in 2013.  I believe it was well deserved.  If I had to describe our stay in 4 words, they would be: Warm, Comfortable, Friendly, and Luxurious!

The Hotel Grand Pacific is located in Victoria BC just off the water front, Downtown. It is the perfect choice for the lifestyle traveler. They offer 100% smoke-free environment. Children of 17 years and younger may stay in a room at no additional charge, when accompanied by their parent. They have several on site eatery choices, from fine dinning to cafe, they also offer in room service.  All of the food we ate on site, was top quality and very much enjoyed by us. The Hotel Grand Pacific is 2 blocks from the downtown restaurant and shopping scene, 2 blocks from the Victoria Conference Center and 5 blocks from Fisherman’s Wharf, a working harbor surrounded by an array of food kiosks, unique shops and ecotour adventures.

This past fall was My 25 year wedding anniversary.  I have always wanted to go to Victoria BC and check it out.  This year was the year to do so.  We decided that the Thanksgiving weekend would be best.  We had the privilege of staying at the Hotel Grand Pacific.  This picture above is as we approached the front entrance of the hotel.  What a beautiful, winter welcome it was.  Our ferry was late arriving in Victoria, yet still too early for check in.  They had told me earlier that they offer secure baggage storage, for if you arrive early and want to go sightseeing while waiting for your room. We were welcomed with a friendly greeting by the staff who easily addressed any questions we had.  We were pleasantly surprised to find our room ready, so we were able to go right up and start enjoying our vacation.

Our room was very spacious and comfortable.  We had a Plush King size bed to relax and sleep on as well as and arm chair with ottoman, and the room had a balcony. As a matter of fact, all their rooms come with balconies.

From our balcony, we could look off to the left and see the water, looking straight out, we could see the park and the Parliament building. At this time of year, it was lit up with Christmas lights at night. A very beautiful sight to see. Looking to the right we could see out over the top of the roof, to the mountains.  We loved our room and the comforts that came with it.  Hotel Grand Pacific offers many amenity’s with all their rooms.

In the closet you can see the plush robes that were available to use along with the iron and board. Then there was the bathroom.  No grout grime to be found here, only full slab shower surround.  This was a very spa like experience.  Roomy and spacious with a separate sink area outside for others to use while this bathroom was occupied.

dsc_6747Then there is the Athletic Club. “Popular among local members, hotel guests, and even Olympic athletes, the Victoria Athletic Club at Hotel Grand Pacific is a full-service fitness facility offering everything you need to get in a great workout while you stay here. You’ve never seen a hotel gym like this!”  They also offer daily classes that you can take.

Along with Wi-fi you can go down to the front desk and check out an Ipad to use in your room for up to 2 hrs.  This is something that we did take advantage of.  We were able to get online and see what was available in the area and what time things were happening.  When we needed it for a longer period of time, we just needed to see if they were still available, then we were able to keep it longer.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Grand Pacific. When we needed a taxi and directions, the concierge was more than happy to take care of all our questions and needs.  It was just a short walk from the ferry landing to the front door.  I would recommend them to anyone.  You can check all the different room cost and seasonal specials to see what will work best for you.

So I would say, Summer or Winter, Victoria BC is a beautiful city to visit and the Hotel Grand Pacific is the place to stay!
