Children’s band The Jimmies, fairly accurately described as “bubblegum meets indie,” are the creation and vision of New Yorker Ashley Albert, the daughter of music producer Howard Albert. One of my favorite things about the holidays is getting out all my Christmas music! (now it is more like updating my iPod to include my “Chrsitmas Music” folder) Every year I am anxious to add a few new albums to my play list. The Jimmies “Mama Said Nog You Out” was the perfect addition! I love listening to music that my kids and I can enjoy together. The day we got the CD in the mail we were planning on making Christmas cookies. We listened to the whole album three times through by the time we were done! And that is not because the album is short, we just take a really long time with five kids fighting over the color of the frosting. My favorite song is “I Want a Hippopatumus for Christmas”, probably because my kids giggle the whole time and think it is the funniest song ever! I would recommend The Jimmies to anyone, and everyone who loves listening to fantastic music with their kids!
