First started as a family business back in 1900, two brothers started Flanagan Brothers in Wisconsin. After several mergers, the Great Lakes Kraut Company LLC was created in 1997. Their name was changed to GLK Foods LLC in 2010 to incorporate products beyond sauerkraut to their line! Their company is able to offer a range of sauerkraut “tastes” through their different brand lines including Silver Floss, Krrrrisp Kraut, Willie’s and Cortland Valley Organic.

I browsed through some of GLK Foods recipes and found so many great choices! I think their Hot German Potato Salad (shown above) looks so good!! It is made with a mix of potatoes, bacon, Krrrrisp Kraut Sauerkraut, Onion and a few other ingredients! Sauerkraut has just 32 calories in a 1-cup serving and NO fat or cholesterol! Studies have shown that Sauerkraut can offer health benefits as well.
