Recently I have been going through our stuff and donating items we never use, have outgrown, or just don’t have a need for any longer. Some things have been extremely hard to just see dropped in a donation box though and that’s where Wish Upon a Hero can make donating your treasured items or collectibles go to someone that will continue to love the items you once loved and cherised.
Wish Upon a Hero founder Dave Girgenti, a graphic designer by trade, conceived the idea for “Wish†shortly after the September 11th attacks on New York City. From his home in New Jersey, Girgenti watched as thousands of people posted pictures of missing loved ones throughout the city. He thought there had to be a faster, more organized way to connect people in need. After Hurricane Katrina and witnessing the desperation of people in need of the basics to survive, Dave realized the added dimension of creating a space where people can help people who need anything. Wish Upon a Hero is a positive result of the effects of these two catastrophes.
