Windows Phone – HTC 8X Review #WindowsChampions

We started with Windows Phones right off when my husband and I each got smart phones. Having started off with a Windows Phone, I’m always so surprised when I pick up an android device how clunky and hard to navigate the interface is. Everything I want to access is within seconds of turning on the screen. The Windows 8 phones are even faster with more ways to customize your live tiles and start screen giving you everything you need just a click away.

I have customized my start screen to let me access all the social media networks I’m often checking on for work, my personal and work email accounts, quick link to my blog and even a wordpress app linked on my home screen. I also have quick access right there to weather, calendar, time, calling, games, scriptures, even my settings screen as I access that quite a bit for internet tethering. I can adjust the priority of the tiles by making them smaller or larger and moving them around as needed. So, for me, I clump all the social media icons to make one of the medium sized squares and then I know exactly where they all are and it’s easy to pick and choose from which platform I want to open.

Review of HTC 8x Windows Phone

I have had the opportunity to test a HTC 8x Windows Phone. This phone has a great camera with 8 MP capabilities. Now, most the time, I just use my phone to take all of my pictures as it is always with me and the quality of the pictures turn out great! I only specifically bring my point and shoot camera now when I need to use an optical zoom.

There’s a great feature of a “Kid’s Corner” login screen where kids can swipe the screensaver to the left and access a safe area that only has the apps you approve of and add to this area of your phone. I absolutely love this feature! I keeps my kids away from the internet, app store, messing with my email accounts, or anything else I don’t want them to have the access to. The kids love to play with the apps when they have the chance and there are some really fun and educational apps available for them.

I have the settings applied to make my phone automatically sync all of my pictures up to my SkyDrive. Now, I never have to worry about losing my photos and they are SO easy to access and download to my computer every so often. I use this feature all the time to download the couple of pictures that I have snapped to share on a post.

I love my new Windows Phone! It’s sleek, fast, simple to navigate, and loaded with features! Find out more about Windows Phones and the latest developments at www.windowsphone.com.

  1. I’ve heard a lot of great things about that phone – I think the picture you took with the phone looks great too.

  2. Looks like a great phone. I’ve only used a Windows phone at a demo. It was interesting but still love my iPhone.

  3. This looks like a pretty good phone. I use an Android and have always been an Apple person. I have yet to try a Windows phone. Looks like I should!

  4. Ah, to have a smart phone (of any kind). You make good points for this phone. The Kid’s Corner is a good thing.

  5. I love the look of Windows phones. I think I would love the functionality as well. I just worry about the fact that some of my favorite apps aren’t available!
