FROZEN + Subway Movie Kids Date

SUBWAY has asked me to promote SUBWAY. I received a gift card for my participation, but all opinions expressed in the post are my own, and not those of SUBWAY.

My kids and I have a tradition of going out on a “date” just like my husband and I do, to get out together and have fun just with me and my oldest boys. Last week, my husband and I went out on a date to see the Hobbit and tried out a theater we haven’t been to in a long, long time. They renovated the theater and I had been hearing rave reviews about how comfy their new setup was with recliners and wide comfy seats. So, when we got home from our date my boys kept asking me all about the recliners and comfy theater, I knew a date was in order for my and my little boys.

First things first, we headed out for a yummy and healthy lunch at Subway! They have a great promotion running throughout the month of January where all footlong subs are just $5! That’s right, you can pick any of them for $5! I was thrilled, to say the least. My 5 year old is extremely picky and only wants the Turkey sub which is usually around $7. My favorite which is a more expensive sub was just $5 as well, the Sweet Onion Terriyaki! Subway offers kids meals as well, and right now they have adorable reusable FROZEN themed meal sacks! The kids meals come with a fit mini sandwich, side of apples, and a low-fat milk!

Since all of my boys wanted the Turkey Breast sub, I went with the footlong and let each of them customize their 1/3 of the sandwich with only the toppings they wanted. I added a couple sides of apples and cups of water, and everyone was happy and well fed. When we were done with our meal, we headed to the theater to watch FROZEN. Since we just had a filling lunch, we skipped on the big tub of popcorn and I was a bit surprised, but I didn’t hear a single complaint about it!

We all had a really great time watching FROZEN! My boys absolutely love the Snowman, Olaf, and laugh at him throughout the show. While the story is a bit more geared towards girls with a princess theme, my boys still thought it was great with the trolls, snowman, and reindeer that kept it funny and “cool”. The music in frozen is fantastic, as well, I found myself singing along in my head throughout the show. It was a perfect date out with my boys, we all had a great time.
