Game Day Bow Tutorial

Football season has arrived and is in full swing! I love a good college football game. Getting ready for the big game can be almost as exciting as the main event if you ask me. Our pre-game routine is so much fun! We love to hang out and eat good food until we burst before setting in for the game and more food! My favorite thing about the game is sporting our team spirit.

This post is sponsored by Lunchbox. All opinions are my own.

My husband and I are both graduates from the University of Utah. We love to cheer on our Utes as they play, especially when they play BYU! Is there anything more fun than a rivalry game? I will be honest, one of my favorite parts of getting ready for the game is getting all decked out in our Utes gear. Once I had a little girl I knew she needed her very own bows to sport on game day.

Go Utes!!!

Here is how we made her Game Day Bows:

Gather your supplies:

BowSupplies

Starting with your widest ribbon. Stack the ribbon the way you want it to lay, think a bow with multiple loops but missing the middle knot. Use some thread to tie your stack in place.

Repeat with your other ribbons. Some I tie with loops, some I just place in an “x” shape. Whatever you like best!

Stack all the tied bundles together and glue in place with your hot glue gun.

Pick one of your medium size ribbons. Cut a 6 inch piece (this will give you PLENTY) Tie a knot in the middle of it. Glue the knot in the center of your stacked bow, then wrap the excess to the back and glue into place. This will give you the illusion of having actually tied your bow.

Now you can attach your bow to a headband or clip! We go back and forth between a larger size bow on a headband and two smaller ones for her pig tails.

How do you pre-game? Do you eat treats or tailgate? I would love to see your Pre-game Pride Slideshow that you made here. Besides our awesome gear and yummy food my husband’s聽pre-gaming involves these great Unilever products. For example, while you and the girls get all dolled up in your team colors, make sure the boys use some Degree Deodorant and Axe Body Spray to keep them smelling fresh during all that yelling, cheering, and frustrated with referee gestures! Once the game is over they can freshen up and remove that all that game excitement with Dove’s Men Care Body Wash! You can find all your pre game needs at Sam’s Club, plus you can win some!

  2. This is so cute, and easy! I’m going to forward this to my aunt who has lots of girls in her household, and they tailgate and grill for every home game.

  3. Ha! Her little faces crack me up! I love making hair bows for my daughter, even though we aren’t sports fans, I love to match them all to her dresses and clothes. I love how easy this one is.

  4. Love her and that bow! What a simple way to make such a fantastic bow! Can’t wait to have a little girl and dress her in bows!

    1. I am a former cheerleader! That is where I learned because you are right, they are SO expensive!

  5. Oh how cute! I can only get bows and hair things to stay in my daughter’s hair (she’s 2.5) for maybe an hour before she pulls it out and is done with it. Gone are the days of cute stuff.

  6. That bow is adorable. I love how you layered it the way you did. I have son, so I NEVER got to make anything like this. =(

  7. This is such a easy way to make bows. I love the game day theme. You can do so many different combos.
