Supplies:

Directions:

Grab a piece of wood and take your favorite color paint and paint the entire top and sides. I did a total of 2 coats and allowed it to dry outdoors for about 1 hour before I proceeded to do the vinyl.

I already created one of my favorite quotes in a photo editing program so you can just upload my file into the Cricut design space. Once you are happy with the sizing you can send the image to the cut settings. Make sure your turn dial is set to vinyl and load your vinyl into the cutting machine. Follow the settings on the screen and once the cut is complete remove from your Cricut cutting machine.

Remove the vinyl from the cricut cutting machine and weed out the excess vinyl from the wording. Once the weeding is complete place a piece of clear transfer tape over the wording and apply to your design to the wood.

Apply a clear sealant to ensure the vinyl stays put for a long time.聽 That鈥檚 it hang the wood pallet on the wall and enjoy the quote for years to come.

You can also just print out the printable quote and frame it, if you don’t have a vinyl cutter, which would be fun for celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday week.

  1. Your project is really cute!! I love your design! I want to make this sign for a new grand-nephew who’s coming in about six weeks….I think rather than trace the words, I’d rather type them out. Do you remember what fonts you used? It looks like you used five or six different fonts….and all of them make your quote so adorable!!!

I’ve worked with vinyl before and was always told not to put a sealer over it b/c it will eventually bubble b/c of a reaction of some kind. Have you ever had problems with the vinyl bubbling after you sealed it?

    1. Hi Donna, glad you like it! You can use the image template included in the post. Just print it as is and frame it, or upload it to a vinyl cutter and cut out the vinyl. Or you could use some kind of transfer paper to copy over the design and paint it on the wood.

Also, you could seal the wood first and then add the vinyl if you are worried about it bubbling up.

  2. I was really enthused about this post. Dr. Seuss IS inspirational. That quote is amazing and the project creative. Thank you for coming to the Inspire Me Monday Linky party and linking up with us this week.
