EASY CHILI CHEESE BURRITO RECIPE
A good friend of ours brought over this chili cheese burrito recipe for dinner for us way back with our very first baby. You expect to see casseroles and similar meals when someone brings over a meal. Instead, she brought over this dish! I’d never had something like them before but they have since become an easy go-to recipe our family has used ever since!
HOW TO MAKE CHILI BURRITOS:
Ingredients:
- Chili McCormick Skillet Sauces
- 1 lb Ground Hamburger
- 1 can Kidney Beans
- 1 can Petite Diced Tomatoes
- Shredded cheese
- Tortillas
Make a batch of homemade chili using the McCormick Skillet Sauce packet or your favorite recipe! This makes it SO easy to make your own chili and the chili turns out hearty and delicious!
Next, scoop a big spoonful or two of chili onto your tortilla. Top the chili with shredded cheese. Roll it up and place it in an aluminum or regular baking dish if you’re planning to freeze the meal or your chili cheese burritos are ready to plate!
We top our burritos with just a little bit of chili for effect, cheese, and sour cream. You can also add fresh diced onions, cilantro, salsa, or any other toppings you would like as a garnish.
If you freeze an individual chili cheese burrito, wrap the burrito, or the whole dish tightly in ceramic wrap and then aluminum foil to keep out freezer burn. Reheat in the oven at 350° F for 35-40 minutes or until cooked and warm at the center of your tray. No need to thaw first. Or microwave your individual freezer burrito for 2 minutes, or until heated through.
Best of all, when the meal is served my 4 year old tells me, “Mom, you’re the best cooker ever!” The chili tastes great and makes for a really filling, delicious meal the whole family happily gobbles down!
