Cloth Diapering Questions Answered!

I’ve mentioned before that I recently had my 5th child. 聽I’ve always used disposable diapers with all of my kids. 聽When Mischa came along, I noticed that more and more of my friends were cloth diapering their babies. 聽I thought about using them for about a half a second before all the myths and questions of cloth diapering pushed all the good benefits of cloth diapering out the window.

I was聽recently offered the opportunity to try cloth diapering with diapers from Naughty Baby. 聽I thought, what the heck, I think I want to try them. 聽After receiving them in the mail, I realized I knew nothing about cloth diapering! 聽

  • Do you have to use pins? 聽聽I realize now that I was in a whole other time period with my thoughts about cloth diapering. 聽Naughty Baby cloth diapers are shaped like a paper diaper, but instead of the velcro like fasteners on the sides, they have handy snaps. 聽The snaps hold the diaper on super secure.
  • What about poop?聽 This was a big one for me. 聽I am happy say, that it’s really not a big deal. 聽Naughty Baby sells flushable nappy liners, poop goes on the liner, and into the potty. 聽If by chance a little gets on the diaper, it comes right off.
  • Do they leak? 聽Cloth diapers need to be washed multiple times before using them. 聽Once you’ve washed them, they hold really well. 聽Naughty Baby uses a cloth insert that goes in a pocket in the diaper. 聽 We had no leaks, even overnight with Naughty Baby.
  • Are they funny looking? 聽Yes, that’s a bit silly for me to ask, but I didn’t really know. 聽Naughty Baby diapers are absolute adorable! 聽They come in super cute prints for both girls and boys. 聽My favorite was the Pink Panda Print. 聽It was super cute, and made with Minkee, so it was soft. 聽It didn’t rub Mischa’s chunky legs like paper diapers sometimes do.

Now, do I plan on continuing with cloth diapering? 聽Yes, I think I might. 聽Even if not full time, they are excellent to have when you run out of paper diapers late at night.
