Finding Nemo has long been one of my favorite Disney animated films — one that we can watch over and over again and still not get tired of it. I remember I was first introduced to the film about 8 years ago when I worked as a nanny. The two children I watched loved this movie so much that it would barely play from scratches! I knew it was a title I would want to own even before having my own kids and picked up a copy in DVD format way back then. I felt like I got to experience the movie all over again like seeing it for the first time when watching it in Blu-ray! The picture quality is beautiful and I felt like I was right there in the ocean along with the whole crew. My kids love the sharks and seeing the turtles, too. One part that always makes me laugh, and one we quote often around our home, is the obnoxious seagulls arguing, “Mine!” There are so many fun parts to this movie that I find myself laughing out loud every time I watch the show. Plus, Finding Nemo is packed with a lot of heart and emotion too where you really care about the characters and the story.
Here’s a great clip I’m excited to share that shares an alternate opening and commentary by the Director, Andrew Stanton, that he says was like “looking at your school pictures and worrying that you look like a dork,” as he looked back at this old clip.
Finding Nemo is available in stores now on Blu-ray Hi-Def, Blu-ray 3D, DVD, and digital platforms! You can get your little ones excited to experience Finding Nemo all over again (or for the first time) with these fun activity sheets!
