VTech Switch & Go Dinos Review – Span the Spinosaurus

VTech’s new Switch & Go Dinos take two favorite toys that boys love – dinosaurs and vehicles – and combines them into a unique toy that lets you transform from a dinosaur to a vehicle and back again with just a few simple steps. The Switch & Go Dinos also comes with a customizable LCD screen with voices, vehicle sound effects, and educational dinosaur facts.

Having three boys, we have a LOT of boy toys in our home but most are geared towards younger kids. I have a hard time wanting to buy many of the toys out there geared towards older boys as they seem to mostly revolving around figurines of superheros or wrestlers which aren’t really that exciting or fun. I was absolutely thrilled for the chance to check out VTech’s Switch & Go Dinos! My three boys ages 2, 4, and 6 all absolutely LOVE the Switch & Go Dinos we had the chance to check out! They needed a bit of help figuring out how to make all the switches to transform them from a dinosaur to a vehicle and back at first but quickly picked up how to switch them on their own. They love that all three Switch & Go Dinos have wheels in both modes so they can easily “drive” their characters. My boys also loved the animated screen where they can change their driver/pilot or the dinosaurs eyes depending on the mode they were currently in. They also really enjoy each different characters special feature like Span the Spinosaurus’s ability to launch colorful discs and Attila the Ankylosaurus’ tail/crane that can flick back and forth.

We have already seen countless hours of interaction and play with the Switch & Go Dinos. Since all the characters come with some “accessories” that can be used right along with the dinosaurs and even to some degree mixed and matched along the other Switch & Go Dinos these toys actually seem like a good value. They are a bit more than most toys you might see, but they pack in a lot of play and are loaded with fun features to play with. These toys are pretty big, though, so you will need a good place to store them when not in use.
