Microsoft “Chip In” Crowd-Funding PC Program #WindowsChampions
Microsoft recently launched a program to help students heading off to college. “Did you know that 94% of students feel that they need a computer before graduation? And that 82% plan to head to college with a new computer?” Now, there’s a great way to help out the graduates in your life succeed with a gift you know they will love by chipping in!

Microsoft will help students to get a new Windows PC or tablet they need for school with their Chip In program. Students can crowdsource contributions from their friends and family to reach their goal the need for their new device. Microsoft will contribute, too, chipping in 10 percent of the purchase price on select PCs for participating! Plus, the first 10,000 students to fully fund their PC will also receive a complimentary four-year subscription to Office 365 University!
How to Join the Chip In Program

Sign up to participate at http://www.windowschipin.com/
You will need a valid .edu email address or documentation of enrollment in a university or accredited institution to be qualified. Participating students then select from a wide range of qualified Windows 8 PCs and tablets and create their own customized giving page.
Finally, students will share their page and enlist the help of their friends with social media or email and collect donations towards their new computer fund.
聽Surface RT Special Offer

Whether you are a student or not, you’ll love Windows Surface RT! For a limited time, when you purchase a Surface RT you will receive a free Touch Cover, Touch Cover Limited Edition, or a Type Cover. These covers adds in a keyboard to let your Surface RT double as a laptop for a portable and flexible option!
Do you know a student heading off to college? Be sure to let them know about the Chip In program! The program runs through September 1, 2013.

This is the first time I have heard of this. I have a niece that might be interested. Great program
This is absolutely a great idea. I have twins that are going to be in college and this would help us out a lot.
What a fantastic program! This would be so nice if you had a child who was graduating. You could ask people to help with the cost of a computer instead of other gifts. I love it!
What a great idea. The student gets what they want and the others don’t have to guess at what to give.
I love the idea of this. It helps take some of the financial burden off the parents.
I’m so impressed & in love with technology. We can be connect all over the world with our friends and family and even meet people online and hope to meet in real life. Microsoft Chip in pc program sounds fabulous for any college student that will help them so much reach their dreams and stay connected to them. I’m sharing this with my nephew. Thank you for a great post.
i think this is one of the best uses for the internet…it brings people together for good causes…you can contribute to buy a goat for a family in a third world country, lend money to an entrepreneur to start a business….or buy a computer for a college student. i’m glad to see corporations chipping in too. thanks for the ‘good news’.
This looks like a good program for off-to-college students. (don’t know any myself)
So glad I read this. I know 2 people heading off to college this year and will be sure to tell them about this program. Thanks for the heads up.
