Thank you to The Mrs. for sponsoring today’s post and reminding me that I’m Enough!
Being home from a long summer trip, I realize what being gone a month can do. This past week I had something on my calendar for every.single.day, not to mention the back log of emails and blog related work to do. So here’s a peek at my week.
Monday, midwife. Check-up went well, I’m 26 weeks pregnant and the only concern is a potential short cervix, so I will likely have another ultrasound at 30 weeks to see if we should start preventative measures like bed rest to avoid pre-term labor.
Tuesday, back to school shopping. Whew. So glad to have all their supplies picked out and loaded into backpacks, as school starts this Monday here! This evening I also went out with the missionaries from my church to visit families.
Wednesday, a back to school party with 18 teenage girls from my church at my house. Yup, that meant cleaning party, nearly all day long.
Thursday, sleepover! My son’s BFF slept over as a last fun get together before back to school. I’ll admit, I snuck out when the kids were in bed for a slice of cheesecake with some of my friends while hubby stayed home.
Friday, Meet the Teacher and Denny’s Diner dinner event. Both were fun, but meant lots of running around to get done.
Amid my week also included creative 14 different bento lunchboxes, painting and sanding boards and rocks for two upcoming projects I’m almost done with, and so excited about, restocking my empty kitchen post-vacation, sorting through all the trip laundry and gear, rearranging bedrooms to accommodate a bunk bed, and lots of loads of dishes and laundry.
I ended up with a cold sore on my lip by Wednesday morning from stress of all the millions of things on my to-do list and running around that had to get done. This was just the week that I needed to hear this message — the one that says, “I’m Enough!“
Despite all the things I know I have to get done (and that next week is going to be just as hectic with an even longer blogging list and back to school), it made me pause for just a moment and remember that I am enough! When I feel like a failure at the end of the day because I didn’t finish the never ending to-do list, I still accomplished a lot.
When need reminders like this everyday. We need to remember that we are great, beautiful, strong, talented, special, important, etc..
This video says that message loud and clear, and is a must watch video!
The Mrs. Band is making a debut this fall with songs that tell about real life of the artists. They are real life women telling in their late 30’s, early 40’s talking about marriage, motherhood, friendships, careers — the things we women really struggle with!
