4 Ingredient Edible Play Dough
I love watching my little toddler learn and explore through sensory play. It’s amazing how quickly he’s able to learn and grow when I try to incorporate “hands on” activities into our daily routine.
Growing up, I was extremely blessed to be raised by a super creative and fun mom. One of my favorite childhood activities included helping my mom make play dough.
The best part about helping my mom make this certain play dough was being able to EAT it! I’ve enjoyed carrying on the tradition with my son and making, playing with, and eating this delicious edible play dough.
Looking for a fun way to encourage sensory play? Give this 4 Ingredient Edible Play Dough a try.
I received samples and compensation in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
4 Ingredient Edible Play Dough

Ingredients:
– 1 cup peanut butter
– 1 cup corn syrup
– 1 1/4 cup powdered milk
– 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
2. Mix until ingredients are well blended.
3. To make sure everything mixes well, use your hands to knead dough together.
4. After play dough is crafted, store in a large zip lock bag for extended use (unless you’re like my family and eat it all).

Perfect for little helpers, use this activity to talk about numbers and measurements while combining ingredients. After you’re done making the play dough, have fun crafting shapes, building animals, and using your imagination. Sensory play has never been more fun or delicious!

I have to admit, my favorite part of making this particular play dough is not trying to keep it out of my son’s mouth! This allows him to freely play and explore. However, we all know that “exploring” often means that there’s going to be a mess involved. Let’s be honest, with ingredients like powdered sugar and corn syrup, there’s going to be a bit of a mess! Thankfully, Mega Mess Wipes are here to the rescue!

My husband and I often refer to these Mega Mess Wipes as “one hit wonders.” Their large surface area and thick material go quite the distance; one wipe will take care of an entire dirty diaper! We use our Mega Wipes for everything – dirty diapers, wiping off the counters, cleaning up spills, etc. Mega Mess Wipes’ kid-safe and surface safe design makes clean-up easy and hassle free. Not to mention, these Mega Mess Wipes made our Edible Play Dough clean-up a breeze.

One wipe took care of messy hands, faces, and kitchen surfaces in seconds.

Thanks to Mega Mess Wipes, sensory activity clean-up has never been easier. Be sure to check out Mega Mess Wipes for more product information.
I love making homemade play doh, although I never tried making it edible, interesting and will try.
Great recipe for the play dough and great time to do a little bonding with the little ones too
THiS sounds like a super fun craft! My son already puts everything in his mouth so this would be great!
edible? is it any good?
This is awesome! My kids love play dough and being able to eat it makes it that much more fun!
How cute is this! Perfect for my granddaughters! I think THIS is my new favorite sensory activity!
Love this recipe safe and edible for the little ones.
I have two creative children that would love this! I think my daughter would eat all of hers before she had the chance to make anything with it though!
Edible play dough–love it! So much better than the standard play dough that we always made!
I used to love playing with play dough when the kids were little. I just tried a moon sand recipe that was fun. I like that the play dough is edible.
This is the dream! Being able to eat your toys after you make them is great.
What a great recipe for homemade play dough!! I would want to eat the whole batch of playdough.
WOW, this is so cool. You cannot go wrong with peanut butter.
Wait? Edible playdoh…you had me with those two words. I haven’t allowed the three year old to play with playdoh because she likes to put things in her mouth. Thanks for this recipe.
Pretty neat recipe! I didn’t think about edible play dough.
I love that this is fully edible. So many little kids have eaten stuff that’s not nearly as healthy. Although, I’d need to get creative with a substitute for peanut butter as my youngest son won’t go near the stuff.
I love having edible play dough since kids like to stick anything they can in their mouth. Even better, this one doesn’t have wheat.
My daughter loves to play with play dough. But she still tries to eat it. So this is perfect for us!
Play doh has always been a favorite sensory activity. We also used to like digging in rice for buried treasure.
This is genius. Talk about easy cleanup? “Honey, are you finished with your playdough?” “Yes, Mommy.” “Snack time!”
How neat that they eat this after they play with it. I need to try this.
