Family Fun in the Sun – Must See Arizona Attractions
A little while ago it dawned on me; my family had lived in Arizona nearly 3 years and had never taken advantage of our beautiful surroundings. All of our vacations the past 3 years have been to visit our family in Idaho and Utah. Although we wouldn’t change this family time for anything, my husband and I decided that it was time to explore the beautiful state of Arizona. Whether you are an Arizona local, visiting from out of state, or looking to learn more about Arizona, check out these inexpensive family-friendly Arizona attractions.
I was given a Residence Inn gift card in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.聽
Family Fun in the Sun – Must See Arizona Attractions

Get why they call it bell rock?
Just a small example of the unique greenery along the trail.
Could you ask for more breath-taking scenery?
Chapel of the Holy Cross: While in Sedona, you have to swing by Chapel of the Holy Cross. This Roman Catholic Chapel is build INTO a formation of rocks. Talk about architecture at its finest. Walking up to this chapel, you experience incredible views and an extremely peaceful environment.
Slide Rock State Park: Located North of Sedona and South of Flagstaff, have fun splashing down Slide Rock’s all-natural water slide! That’s right, a natural water slide! Although it was a little too cold for my family to enjoy the water, we will be returning in the summertime to take advantage of this incredible water feature!
Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Drive: Ranked among the top 5 scenic drives in the US, your family MUST experience the beauty of Oak Creek Canyon. On this stretch of road, you’ll encounter thick forests, red mountains, incredible rock structures, and unique cliffs. This is one drive that you’ll want to take slowly – my family pulled off to the side of the road numerous times in order to take everything in. I’ve never experienced such stunning views. Although these pictures don’t do the scenery justice, take a peek at some of my favorite shots.
The Grand Canyon: Experience complete amazement through the magnificent grandeur of the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is something you just have to see for yourself to believe. Seeing these beautiful red rocks through my son’s eyes was truly magical! He kept exclaiming “WOW” with each new and exciting view.
I must say, I’m quite taken with the beautiful state of Arizona; our family road trip will always be remembered! One of the most memorable factors of this vacations included our stay at Marriott’s Residence Inn. With聽spacious suites, a hot continental breakfast, free WiFi, an incredible swimming pool, laundry services, and free grocery delivery, our family felt right at home. In fact, after our night’s rest, I asked my toddler if he slept well to which he replied, “SO good!” With competitive rates and locations across the country, make the most out of your next family road trip by staying at Residence Inn. Stay tuned for my next post where I will share photos and talk more about my family’s experience staying at Marriott’s Residence Inn.
