Cast Iron Butter Rolls Recipe
There is nothing better than a warm, buttery roll to compliment your meal. It wouldn’t even matter to me what the meal is, I wouldn’t turn down butter rolls even if it seemed like a strange combination! This butter rolls recipe lets you cook your rolls in a cast iron skillet which makes them soft in the center and a nice crispy on the edge.
Cast Iron Butter Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 cups flour
- 1 envelope rapid rise yeast
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¾ cup milk
- ¾ cup water
- ¼ cup butter melted
- 2 tsp butter
Directions:
In your mixer bowl add warm water and yeast let sit for 5 minutes.
Add milk and butter to the yeast. Slowly add dry ingredients into the mixer bowl, using your dough hook mix until well combine.
Beat at high speed 2 minutes. Turn on a floured surface and knead 5-6 times. Place back in bowl and cover let sit for 1 hour until doubled.
Preheat oven to 350.
Butter your cast iron skillet.
Divide dough into 10-12 even pieces and form into balls. Place in skillet and cover and let sit for 20 minutes to rise.
Brush with melted butter and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
