Apple Pie Cake Recipe


I love apple pie! What’s better than a warm slice of apple pie topped with a scoop of ice cream? Making homemade apple pie takes a LOT of work, though. Here is a fun shortcut recipe that will remind you of your homemade apple pie in a fluffy cake! Apple Pie Cake may just become your new favorite dessert. Pie and cake together? Genius!

Apple Pie Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 Can Apple Pie Filling (21oz)

Topping:

  • ¼ Cup Butter, Chilled and diced
  • ½ Cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ Cup Flour
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon

Directions:

Start by preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×13 baking pan.

Apple Puree for Apple Pie CakeNext, take your can of apple pie filling and blend it in your blender or food processor until slightly lumpy.

Now, you’ll combine your cake mix, eggs and blended apple pie filling in a large bowl until well mixed. Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan. Set this pan aside while you make your topping.

Apple Pie Cake Mix

The crumble topping is made by combining brown sugar, flour and cinnamon into a small bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly, mixing together. Now take this cinnamon topping and sprinkle over your cake batter.

Pop the cake into the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until cooked through. You should be able to insert a toothpick in the center of the cake and have it come out clean when the cake is finished.

If you have any leftover cake, store it in an airtight container to preserve the apple filling. Enjoy!!

  3. Combine cake mix, eggs and blended apple pie filling in a large bowl. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
  4. In small bowl, add brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle topping over cake batter and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
