Easy Veggie Burger

One of my all time favorite meals is a big ol’ hamburger loaded with all my favorite toppings. But a meat filled burger means calories and grease. I can still enjoy my favorite meal by swapping out a healthier alternative, making a delicious Easy Veggie Burger!

Veggie Burgers

MorningStar Farms offers meat alternative products that are low in calories without sacrificing taste. I wasn’t sure what to expect from their Grillers Original veggie burgers, but I was pleasantly surprised by them! The patties tasted great! They had a really nice flavor that didn’t make me feel like I was dieting or cutting corners but instead choosing something full of flavor that added to my veggie burger. We grilled up the patties on the barbecue and they cooked really quick, probably close to half the time a traditional burger takes to cook.

I served my Veggie Burger with a bottom bun layered with green leaf lettuce, a veggie patty, a slice of tomato and a few rings of a red onion. To save on carbs you can skip the top bun and the burger will still taste great! In fact, I think it’s a bit easier to eat without the top bun because it’s not quite so thick.

Swapping out a meat patty for a veggie patty and losing the top bun can save you around 300 calories! Skip the slice of cheese to save another 100 calories. Now, you’ll get a delicious and filling meal with 1/3 of the calories and a whole lot less fat in a meal you’ll still love! You can still have your favorite indulgences, just be smart about how you put the recipe together. MorningStar Farms has ton of recipes to help you transform your favorite recipes to low-fat and low-calorie alternatives you indulge in without the guilt.
