3 Weeks to Less Stress #AveenoDailyChallenge #Sponsored #MC

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Aveeno. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

If you are a follower of A Mom’s Take on Facebook, than you already know that I have been participating in the Aveeno Daily Challenge. For the past three weeks I have been using Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion every day and focusing on on a new healthy habit. I personally chose to take time each day to de-stress.

As I began this program I was excited to experiment with my day a little bit and see where I could take the time to de-stress and unwind. Being the mom of two toddlers with a husband in medical school can be so hard. I am so grateful for my two little rug rats and for a husband that applies himself and works so hard, but in this current stage I usually end the day a little frazzled. No matter what stage of life or status you find yourself, as women it seems that we tend to let the weight of the world rest on our shoulders. Seems like we have to find a way to let all of that built up stress go!

After trying several different times (naptime, after the kids bedtime, during the afternoon) I finally found that the perfect time for me to de-stress is before the kids wake up. Here is the problem, I am not a morning person, I savor every last bit sleep I can get. But, for the last three weeks I made an effort to get up early.

I started off my routine by using Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing lotion. This lotion is is formulated with ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal and blended with rich emollients to soothe and moisturize dry skin. I quickly noticed a difference in my skin and the quiet time spent putting it on helped me get ready for the day in a calm environment. It is clinically proven to improve the health of your skin within two weeks. It absorbs quickly and is not heavy or greasy.

After lotion I would usually grab a water bottle and curl up with a book for some time to think and relax. Maybe light a candle that smells good, or draw a bath if that is your thing. Any kind of book will work for me, its a great time for personal reflection, religious study, or mediation. The key is to have some quality quiet time before the craziness of the day. The days I was able to make this happen allowed me more patience as a mother, I had a more clear mind and was able to be more productive. I was sure that having less sleep would have the opposite affect on me, but not true! I have been revitalized! I feel like when I take time to de-stress I am able to savor all the small joys of motherhood, even the hard ones!

I am so glad that I took these three weeks to find a new routine that works for me.  Check all the participants on Facebook, then give it a try yourself! Pick a healthy habit, grab some Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion, and get started! Share your experience with the hashtag #AveenoDailyChallenge.
