Morning routines can be extremely stressful: waking everyone up, choosing the right clothes, putting on make-up, styling hair, packing lunches, getting everyone out the door on time. In order to avoid this morning anxiety, I prepare as much as I can the night before. This preparation helps my morning run a lot smoother.

Shower the night before – Showering at night will cut 15 minutes out of your regular morning routine. When I shower and blow-dry my hair at night, the only thing I have to worry about in the morning is styling my hair (straightening or curling). This allows me to focus my time on helping others be on time for their various activities.

Set out clothes – I used to waste SO much of my precious morning time deciding on the perfect outfit. I find that my mornings are easier when I set my clothes out the night before. I not only pick out my outfit, but set aside shoes, socks, underwear, etc.

Pack lunches – Packing a sack lunch for my husband at night helps him arrive to his classes on time in the morning.

Gather backpacks/diaper bags – Before I go to bed each night, I make sure that everyone has their bags packed with various items needed for the next day and set them by the garage door.
