Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt Review

I received a complimentary Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

I had the opportunity to test out a Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt. I’ll admit, we hardly ever use to lock our front door. We only had one key and even then, we could hardly ever find our key. We would leave the door unlocked so my husband and I could both come and go as we needed to throughout the day. I knew this wasn’t a smart plan, but whenever we tried to make copies of our home key, they never worked right. I also wanted a solution that would let my son who came home by carpool get into our home without needing to leave the front door unlocked. Since I like to keep the door locked when I am at home, this meant often the door would be locked around the time he would get home, and I’d have to run over to the door, weaving in and out of my little ones that would try to beat me to the door from hearing the doorbell, and let my son in the door.

The Touchscreen deadbolt has completely changed the way we protect our home. I can lock the door as I leave with the simple touch of the screen that automatically bolts the door for me. I no longer have to worry about who has the key, in fact I still hardly ever carry the key! When we return home, we can type in our code and enter our home without the hassle of digging for a key. Often, my 7 and 5 year old boys will run up to the door before us and unlock the door, they love typing in the code.

This Touchscreen deadbolt has the ability to connect with Nexia home security to allow you to set and change your lock codes from your computer or smartphone. Connecting it through this subscription service will even let you set limited time access keys that work for only a set time each week, or on a one time basis or as needed. This is such an awesome way to let in family, maid service, a nanny, or similar types of services without giving them unlimited access to your home. You are also able to track the times and what access code is used to see who is entering your home and when. We don’t have this service, but I hope to get to try it out soon as well as those features would be awesome!

The lock also has anti-pick and lock tampering protection. You can set up your lock to beep or flash if anyone is tampering with your door or even in close proximity to your door, based on your preferences and sensitivity levels set. I love that I can be alerted when someone comes to my door. Sometimes, I’ll have a mailman drop off a package without so much as a knock or ringing the doorbell. With the sensor alerts activated, I know someone came by, and can check on my home.
