Easy Dinner Recipes: Penne Pasta & Tomatoes

Sam’s Club wants to help makes meal times simple by showing you how to make multiple meals based on a single ingredient that make easy dinner recipes! They have challenged me to their “Simply Delicious Meal” challenge to see if I can come up ways to include *Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes* in my meal plan for a full week! I will be highlighting 3 recipes in particular through the end of the month!

The first recipe I went with for the challenge is one we have enjoyed for years! It is extremely fast to make and very inexpensive making in an ideal choice, if you ask me!

Sam's Club Meal Challenge

Penne Pasta & Tomatoes!

Boil Penne Noodles, per package instructions. Open a can of Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes, drain well and add to the noodles. Open a small can of Tomato Sauce, add to noddles. Add seasonings as desired, Basil and Oregano are really good with Italian dishes. Finally, sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese if you’d like!

The whole meal can be prepared and on the table in about 15 minutes and there is very little mess or dishes to clean up after, except after my EXTREMELY messy 1 year-old!

Enjoying his Pasta

After you’ve enjoyed your Tomatoes with pasta, you can also use your Hunt’s Dice Tomatoes to prepare Chili and Chalupas! My husband’s family has a great authentic recipe where you fry up a corn tortilla shell flat in oil like a large chip. Then, layer refried beans, cheese, Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes, sour cream and a dash of salt and pepper on top! Simple and delicious and makes for a great lunch or dinner!

  1. I love to make a big pot roast for Sunday dinner. Then before I put it on the table, I cut off about 1/3 of it to use in either a pasta dish or to shred to make shredded BBQ beef sandwiches later in the week. :0)
