Creamsicle Freeze Recipe!
Safeway as a new promotion to promote taking measures to stay well and boost your immune system! With this promotion, they have created a “Be Well, Save Well” pamphlet which is full of tips on boosting your immune system and even has a recipe and coupons!
The pamphlet is free and can be found at your local Safeway store, typically back by the Pharmacy. One great way to stay healthy is to be sure your body has all the necessary vitamins it needs! 100% Juice is a great, and kid-friendly, way to get in some of those vitamins! In 100% Florida Orange Juice you get tons of Vitamin-C which can help you to avoid the Cold or Flu bugs!

I was tasked to visit Safeway to shop for 100% Florida Orange Juice and use it to create a delicious smoothie! This was such a fun assignment as it combines two of my favorite things – Orange Juice and Smoothies!! I only really know one recipe for a smoothie with Orange Juice, and while it’s delicious, it’s so incredibly simple that it felt like cheating.
That other recipe is one I used to make often after school and you just scoop a couple of scoops of ice cream into a cup and then pour in approximately equal portions of Orange Juice and Pineapple juice and stir with a spoon until smooth. See, too simple right? So instead, I set out to see if I could find what I was dying to try – a homemade Orange Julius, like from the mall.
I found a recipe that had great reviews and couldn’t wait to try it! The recipe is called Creamsicle Freeze and has some adaptation options, but I just went with the original recipe which promised results incredibly close to an Orange Julius!
Creamsicle Freeze
Ingredients: 2 Cups of Orange Juice, 1 Cup of Water, 2 Tbl powered coffee creamer, 1/2 Cup Sugar, 14-16 full sized Ice Cubes, 1 tsp Vanilla extract, and 1 Peeled Orange (Optional, for extra flavor).
Directions: Add all ingredients into a blender and blend on high until no ice chunks are left. Enjoy! Makes about (2) Tall Glasses full!

This recipe was simple to follow and gave me a full to the brim blender full of yummy goodness! It made way more than I was expecting! We all enjoyed our cup of the Creamsicle Freeze and I even put the bit we had leftover into our popsicle molds!
I’m not sure if they’ll freeze properly, but if they do they will be really good as a popsicle too! The drink was really delicious and did remind me a lot of an Orange Julius sold in the mall! My boys loved it too and happily finished off their cups! It was a fun way to “sneak” in some Vitamin C for the day!
