Loonacy – The Maniacal Matching Card Game

I never really thought of myself as a very competitive person until I started playing card games with my husband. My husband and I have a great relationship (his easy-go-lucky personality balances out my anal side); however, put us against each other in a simple card game, and it’s a fight to the finish. We are both sore losers, but always end each competitive game with a laugh. Our competitive nature has only grown since introducing Looney Lab’s game Loonacy into our weekly game night.

 Let me tell you a little bit about Looney Lab’s game Loonacy. This fast paced game is perfect for 2-5 player ages 8+. To start the game, players each draw 7 cards. Depending on the number of players, a certain amount of cards are placed face up. The goal of the game is to match the pictures in your hand with the pictures on the cards lying face up. The first person to empty their hand of cards wins! One of my favorite parts of this game is the fact that there are no turns – it’s a fight to the death. Whenever there’s a lull and no one is able to play a card, all players then draw a card and continue playing.

Sounds pretty simple right? Wrong! It’s crazy how hard it becomes to quickly find matches under pressure. Not only that, but each card has two different pictures to keep track of. I love that this game is so unpredictable – sometimes someone wins in 5 minutes, other times, it takes a good 20 minutes. Although the time varies, every second is fun when playing Loonacy.

Not to brag, but I have beat my husband every single time we’ve played Loonacy. Although he dislikes that I win, Loonacy is such a fun and addicting game that we continue to play for hours. Perfect for parties and family game night, you will quickly become addicted to Loonacy, the maniacal matching card game.
