How to Personalize Home Decor with Modern Pillows

Living in a rental home, I feel limited when it comes to home design-I can’t paint the walls, I can’t change our flooring, I have to be careful about nail holes in the walls, etc.

Despite this dilemma, I do my best to make our house feel like home. Adding artistic and personal touches to our home decor fills our abode with abundant happiness. Here are a few ways I have modernized our home using unique, thrifty, and fashionable means:

Adding Personal Touches to Home Decor

  • Adding a modern rug to any space adds the perfect amount of color and comfort. I found my 8 x 10 colorful paisley rug at Ross for $50. 
  • Decorate your windows through drapes/window coverings.
  • Picture collages on your walls adds a personal and fashionable touch to your home.
  • Use shelves to display unique items. I found these items (including the shelf) at thrift stores. After a few cans of spray paint, I created trendy wall design.
  • Add an entryway table to your home. I found this nightstand at a thrift store for $7. After a few coats of spray paint ( $0.95 from Walmart) and a designer knob from Michael’s, I created the perfect entry way table.
  • Use accent pillows to decorate your furniture.
