If I Had a Million Dollars…
You know the song, right, “If I Had a Million Dollars” by Barenaked Ladies. I can’t hear the phrase without breaking out into singing the line. They talk about buying a house, a car, and an exotic pet among other things. We’ve spent the past year building up our savings as much as we can to build up a down payment to be able to upgrade to a larger home sometime down the line. How awesome would it be to wake up one day and be the winner of a $1 Million plus $5,000 Every Week For Life Mega Prize!
Here’s what I would do if I had a Million Dollars…
- Buy a larger home
- Deck out the backyard with a fenced in pool, large playground, 3-hole mini golf course, basketball half court and lots of grass, plants and bike trails.
- Purchase a BMW for my husband. He’s wanted one for about 10 years now so it would be fun to treat him to his dream car.
- Take a vacation (or 2-3)! I dream of going to Australia, an African safari, Italy, and parts of Europe.
- Do some good in my local community. I’d find families in need and ways I can make a difference and give it forward.

buy a house
I’d get a big house and bigger car since we have so many kids now 馃檪

I’d give a portion of it to my family, invest some, and pay off some debts.
Have another baby, buy a house, give a percentage away, and put some in savings.

I’d pay off my student loans. and my sisters. and buy a house for my mom. then who knows!
Oh I definitely hope to at some point in my life!! 馃檪
I would spend $150,000 on debt and a new house. Then I’d give my parents $25,000 as a thank you for letting me live with them. The rest would be invested for the future.
First I would have to pay the taxes on the money. Then I would move, build a small home, and invests and live off the money modestly.

If I had a million dollars…. I would pay of my student loans, buy my dream home, become a stay at home mom, have more kiddos, I would love to open an animal shelter,:) and I would help family pay off bills 馃檪 Oh and take a nice family vacation!! And invest money so that my family never has to “work” again 馃檪

I would pay off our home and my Fathers. Then buy my brother a little place. After that I would make repairs to our home and invest the rest.

I can’t even imagine winning a million dollars – that would be incredible!! I would do many of the same things you have listed. It would be amazing to pay off all our bills and not to have to worry about them anymore.
I do the SAME thing when I hear that phrase. If I had a million bucks I would: never have to clean my house again (unless I wanted to) have perfectly matching bins and boxes and organizers all over the house, move to a new location with land and a nicer house. Have a personal stylist. And chef, and… Oh gosh. So many things. 馃檪 Thanks for the nice daydream

Dude, that song was totally running through my head before you even mentioned it, LOL! I love your list, mine would be pretty similar.
if i won the lottery, i would set up a fund at the vet school for people that could not pay to have their animals treated, i would donate to the spca, hudnreds of pet rescues, to stop the killing of pets, give some money to some friends, build the house of my dreams, get some more dogs and get a few show horses…and move to a different state…
If I had a million dollars? Hmm, I would start by donating a portion to our church, paying off our house and land, and then who knows? Invest it all besides a few hundred that I would blow on something nice from Pottery Barn. lol
I would just pay off my kids’ student loans, put a huge chunk of it into an account for them, buy them each a new and reliable car, and invest the rest for my future. I’m way too practical, aren’t I?

There is so much I would like to do, but having a second home near family would be great.

Hmmm… if I had a million dollars I would pay off my mortgage and take a dream vacation.
i’d get my own bathroom LOL no more sharing for me! i’d do a lot more but that is the first thing.
I would buy a ranch with a really nice house and save enough to help pay taxes.
It would last me the rest of my life, I bet. I would buy a house and continue to live as I always have, frugal and careful of what I spend.
Wow what wouldn’t I do if I had a million dollars, I am sure I could go through it fast!
