Goodnight Songs and Other New Titles From Sterling Children’s Books

I received various books from Sterling Publishing in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

My family, the one I grew up in, was a little different than most. I have an older brother and two younger sisters. What makes us different are the age differences between us! My brother is two years older than me, then there is eight years between me and my next sister, and six years between the next two. If you do the math you can see that my youngest sister was born when I was 14-years-old.

Because of our spacing the relationship I have with my sisters is a little different than the traditional one. I didn’t have to share my clothes with them growing up, we didn’t fight over toys or the tv, but I did spend a lot of time babysitting them, which I hated at the time. Looking back I am so grateful for the time we were able to spend together.

I remember spending time snuggled up with my littlest sister reading Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown over, and over, and over again. I still have that book memorized to this day! I cherish those memories snuggled up together and I love that I have similar memories with my own kids.

I look forward to making even more memories with Margaret Wise Brown’s new book Goodnight Songs. This book is made up of poems and songs that were found after Margaret passed away. They have published together in a beautifully illustrated book that includes a cd of Poetry set to music. 12 award-winning illustrators contributed illustrations that bring these works to life in different styles and mediums.
