Game Night with Monopoly Empire

I received Monopoly Empire in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

Do you love board games? We do at our house! One of our favorite things to do with friends is bust out the board games! Some of my favorite memories are from being gathered around the table with family and friends playing a board or card game. It seems like these nights always get a little loud with laughter and good old-fashioned competition. In our experience here are our game night must haves:

  • Friends and/or Family

Monopoly game night

You can only play so many games of solitaire right? Me and my husband think that six people make a perfect game night, but it really depends on what kinds of games you plan on playing. Our kids are too little to really participate in game night, but inviting 2-4 friends over for some fun usually works out perfectly.

  • Great Games

Obviously you need some games to play. Figure out what works best for you! Board games, card games, video games, they can all make for an entertaining time! It seems like we play different types of games with different friends, just depends on what the group decides on.

  •  Food

What is a good party without good food, right? We LOVE to eat and game night is the perfect excuse to make some yummy treats. Appetizers and small desserts tend to work the best, that way you can snack all night long as you play.

  •  Drinks

Make game night a night for fun drinks too. We love to get some fancy bottled sodas for our fun nights. You could make ice cream floats, or a party style drink too.

  •  A Competitive Spirit

This one gets tricky. Everyone knows there is always someone at game night who is too competitive. They pout, or cheat, or make rude comments when they are not winning. They suck the fun out of everything! However, I find that you can be just as extreme the other way too. It is just as bad to play with someone who could care less about winning either. Find a happy medium, try to win without being a sore loser. I know. It’s a tough one.

Monopoly Empire_Pack & Product Hi-Res

The other night we put together a fun game night with friends to play the new Monopoly Empire. It’s like the classic Monopoly game with a new twist. When you play Monopoly Empire you’ve got a tower to fill with billboards. You get to buy your favorite brands when you land on their brand spaces, and slide your billboard into the tower. Every time you pass GO, you collect the current value of your tower, so every brand you buy makes you richer! Whoever to fill their tower with billboards wins! I love Monopoly and this version is so much fun and plays a little faster than the classic version. We had a blast! It is a great new game to add to our collection.

Hasbro is home to many of your favorite games and toys. You can find Monopoly Empire at local retailers or on Amazon. Approximate retail value $19.99
