Find the Right Android Tablet

When I was in the 8th grade, I religiously watched a television show with my folks. It was Star Trek the Next Generation (yes I am a geek). On the show, the people walked around with tablets doing their daily work. When the first tablets hit the market, I was immediately in love. it brought me back to my childhood and just astounded me that we had the power of a computer in our hand. Tablets have come a long way since those early models, with new features that seem right out of the future.

I was provided a ASUS Memo Pad 8 Tablet in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

With so many options on the market, how do you find the right android tablet for you?

Uses

What will you be using your tablet to do? If you are like me you are browsing the internet, using social media and reading. Home use versus office or school use will sway the features you need in a tablet.

Features

Decide what features are absolute musts for you. Using your android tablet to connect with others is often one of the biggest factors to wanting a tablet. Finding a tablet with a front facing camera enables you to use Skype to connect with your loved ones far away. Storage is another big factor. Find a model that features a micro SD card slot, so you can add memory to your tablet as needed.

Price

Decide on a price range for you. There are many extremely affordable options on the market. I find that most extremely cheap are often to good to be true. They often possess slow touch screens, load times are endless and they rarely stay connected to the internet. Sometimes a bit more money will save you a whole ton of frustration.

When factoring in the speed, function and affordability, the ASUS Memo Pad 8 Tablet is the perfect tablet for you! Created for those looking for a value tablet. The 8-inch MeMO Pad 8 punches well above its weight, boasting features and specifications more commonly found on high-end tablets.

  1. I would use this as an e-reader and share it with my kids too. They would really enjoy all the features it has.

  2. I would use it for reading all of the books I have wanted to curl up with on a cold winter day, taking pictures with the awesome camera, accessing my recipes on line while in the kitchen and keeping in touch with family and friends via internet/email.

  3. As much as I’d love to have a tablet of my own, I’d probably gift it to my husband because he needs one for work.

  4. I would use it for overnight trips, to stay connected when traveling and when relaxing at home and not wanting to be on a desktop or laptop. Also, reading, it is the perfect size for that.

  5. I would use it for road trip, checking email, while visiting family and friends, and helping teach my grandsons with child safe games.

  6. Honestly if I won this I’d bring it to work, I lug my laptop all over the place to meetings, and something that would allow me to ditch it would be great.

  7. I would use it for Skype, for reading e books, for browsing the web, emailing, gaming, watching videos. Thanks!

  8. I’d use it for reading and watching movies. I’ve got huge lists of both that I haven’t gotten around to yet.
