Easy Dinner Recipes: New England Pot Roast Recipe

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
Coming up with easy and different meals to keep dinner interesting can often be a challenge. It seems like most recipes take too long to prepare, call for too many obscure ingredients, or just otherwise look to difficult. That means, we often end up preparing our usual’s over and over throughout any given month. It’s always wonderful when we are able to add new easy dinner recipes to our routine.

We had the opportunity this past week to try out Kraft’s new Recipe Makers! The kits include two cooking sauces and a recipe that just needs a couple of fresh ingredients you add to the dish. It feels like the simple boxed meals to prepare, but our meal came out fresh and delicious! I was really, really happy with the results! We tried out their New England Pot Roast.

To make this recipe, you just need an onion, potatoes, baby carrots, and a beef chuck roast. Dice up the veggies and throw in the roast and veggies into your slow cooker. Then, add on the simmering sauce. You will cook this for 8 hours on low heat.

When your meal has just 15 minutes left to cook, add in the finishing sauce and turn up your slow cooker to high heat. Your home will be smelling amazing by now!

When the finishing sauce is warm your meal is ready! The finishing sauce acts like a thin gravy and it’s got a bit of a tart kick to it! It’s very different and really good!

Enjoying a Homemade Dinner

My four year old is our pickiest eater. He complains about nearly every meal and won’t eat any of it if one thing isn’t “right” to his specifications. He kept telling us the whole time the meal was cooking that he would only eat the carrots. As soon as we dished up his bowl and asked him to please try a bite of the roast and potatoes he was hooked. He kept exclaiming throughout the meal, “This dinner is AMAZING” and “I want MORE!!!” He absolutely loved the meal. The best part was that we even had some leftovers that him and I both had seconds for lunch the next day. This recipe was an absolute winner in our household and the easiest meal I’ve made all month!

Kraft Recipe Makers kits have one featured recipe and two additional recipes you can try inside the box. That makes it easy to add in variety. Plus, they have seven different Recipe Makers kits available. I am eying the Tex-Mex Chicken Fajitas to try next!
