Almost everyone loves the crusty edge to a brownie, I know I do. 聽Well when you make them into brownie bites, they are a bite of wonderful. 聽Or two bites if you want to savor just one piece.

I have searched high and low for the perfect brownie recipe. 聽This is a no fail method that I happened to stumble upon when playing with a brownie mix. 聽I hope you will give it a try.

To start with you can use any store bought brownie mix. 聽I usually use the cheapest one I can buy.

I spray my little muffin tins, then cut the bag open. 聽Add 1 egg, 1/2 cup veggie oil, and a scant 1/2 cup of water. 聽What does scant mean you ask? 聽Look below and you will see.

Not quit to the top, that is what scant means. 聽Dump that in and stir it all up just until it is mixed. Then I use a small scooper to drop the dough into the mini muffin tins.

brownie bites 003

This past Christmas, I broke up candy canes into small pieces and placed one in each bite of brownie. Then dusted them with powdered sugar. 聽These were perfect for the cookie exchange I host every year. 聽Today, I broke up a dark chocolate mint bar I had and placed a piece on 12 of these bites and placed a piece of walnut on all the others.

I then placed all three pans of dough into a preheated 350 degree oven for 12 minutes. 聽I took them out of the oven, set them on cooling rakes for about 10 minutes, then took the bites out of the pans to continue to cool on a baking rack. 聽Did I mention I tasted one? 聽Well I did and it was really good. 聽Wish you could have been here. 聽There are plenty to go around. 聽You can also bake this mix in a regular 9×13 cake pan and bake for about 20 minutes. 聽That works too, especially for people who like the center cuts. 聽Which ever way you like them, I hope you give this a try and let me know what you think. 聽Granny
