The Ultimate Stain Removal Guide

Having two children under the age of three, we go through a lot of laundry at my house. Among the spit-up, blowouts, and the mischievous acts of my toddler son, almost every article of my children’s clothing needs a little extra TLC before laundering. Tired of obnoxious stains covering your clothes? Don’t know the best way to remove those stains? Check out this Ultimate Stain Removal Guide; the best ways to rid your clothes of the most common stains.

I received samples and compensation in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

Blood: Soak stain in ice cold water. Scrub, pre-treat with stain remover, and wash in cold water.

Grass: Pre-treat stain with a small amount of white vinegar. Allow to soak in cold water before washing.

Baby Food: Remove excess food from clothing. Blot stain with cold water, and allow garment to sit in the sun. Pre-treat with stain remover and wash.

Juice: Blot out excess juice. Apply a small amount of white vinegar and soak before washing.

Sweat: Combine baking soda and water. Apply it to the stained area. Allow baking soda mixture to sit before washing.

Bodily Fluids: For stains such as poop, pee, and spit-up, remove excess fluid, apply dish soap, then set in the sun. Wash and repeat if stain still exists.

Gum: Place article of clothing in the freezer until the gum has completely frozen. After gum is hard, it will be a lot easier to remove from your clothing. Chip gum off, pre-treat with stain remover, and throw in the washer.

Candle Wax: Use a blow dryer to heat wax. Remove as much wax as possible. Pre-treat stain with white vinegar or dish soap.
