Pull Apart Garlic Cheese Bread

My boys love bread as a side dish to any meal we serve. It doesn’t matter what the main course is, they would always eagerly accept a roll or warm slice of homemade bread. Making homemade bread can be a lot of work, though. Instead, I like to make a simple yet tasty pull apart garlic cheese bread! It works great as a side to many meals you may already have in our rotation and takes very little effort to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits
  • 陆 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Using kitchen scissors cut each biscuit into quarter sections. Place in a medium sized bowl and mix with the melted butter until all pieces are lightly coated. Add the shredded cheese and garlic salt into the bowl and mix until incorporated. (It鈥檚 easiest to mix with your hands)

Grease a mini loaf pan or place parchment paper in the pan and pour the biscuit mix into the loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until biscuits are slightly browned.

Remove from pan and enjoy! You can triple the recipe to place in a regular sized bread loaf pan.

The reason I turn the rolls into a pull-apart bread loaf instead of just baking up the rolls is we all think the bread is much more fun! With the added cheese and hint of garlic the rolls have a lot more flavor and don’t taste just like a popped open can of refrigerated dough. Plus, having the rolls already quartered lets me dish up just the right amount of bread as a side for each of my kids or dish out seconds without having to offer a full additional roll.

What’s your favorite bread-based side dish?

  5. This looks and sounds amazing. We love garlic and cheese bread. I was wondering for those cutting back on sodium if we could use garlic powder instead. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too much of a difference. I can’t wait to make it. My children and grandchildren love garlic and cheesy bread.

    1. I’m sure you could! It wouldn’t be as salty, obviously, but if that’s the point then go for it! I think it will turn out great!
