Scottsdale Dining & Movie Date Night! #ScottsdaleAZ

We may be the most boring couple ever, but most of the time our date nights consist of dinner and a movie. We really enjoy going out to the movies together as we have the opportunity to get away from our kids for the night and get to watch a movie uninterrupted from little voices and needs. Going out to dinner gives us the chance to talk and reconnect and renew our connection that can be hard to keep up when the children’s demands seem so constant and draining. So, when we started planning a date night in Scottsdale, Arizona, it was only natural that we’d end up at the nice and unique theaters available only on the side of the Phoenix valley. We ended up doing two double dates over different weekends with two very different agendas.

Casual Scottsdale Dining Date Night

We went out for Valentine’s Day with my husband’s sister and her spouse for our first double date. Since Valentine’s Day can be a busy day to be out and about, we decided to plan something more casual and went to our very favorite pizza shop in the valley, Oreganos Pizza. They have several locations in Arizona including two in Scottsdale. We went to their Old Town Scottsdale locations. We ordered our favorite thin crust pizza and finished off our meal with their famous cookie pizza which was delicious! We love everything about Oreganos from their decent prices, yummy pizzas, fun décor and atmosphere. They’ll even bring you out balls of pizza dough to play with which is the perfect entertainer when you have kids along with you.

After our meal, we headed over to Studio Movie Grill to catch a movie. Their theater lets you reserve your seats ahead of time and offers waiter service to your seat. Since we had already had dinner, we didn’t order anything from their menus during our visit but they do have a full menu including candy and popcorn, appetizers, meals, and even kids meals. We saw Warm Bodies, the zombie love story film, which actually turned out to be really humorous and we had a great time.

Fancy Dining in Scottsdale Date Night

About a month later, we were able to get away again for a night out without the kids and this time we invited my parents to come with us. We made a plan to head iPic theaters and a less casual meal at J. Alexander’s.  We headed to dinner first and really enjoyed the atmosphere at the restaurant. They had a patio area that was enclosed to keep the sun off of you but had open frames to let in a nice breeze. Along the outer frames of the patio area where built-in fire pits that really brought in a nice element and feel to the restaurant. When our menus arrived, we were drooling over the entrees and debating back and forth what we wanted to try. We ended up with Prime Rib, two Filet Mignon, and Fish Tacos at our table. Everything we had was delicious and very high quality. We wanted to try their Key Lime pie for dessert, but were too stuffed to eat another bite so we’ll have to go back sometime and split a meal and try their desserts!

After dinner, we headed over to iPic theaters. This theater is nestled in the Scottsdale Quarters shopping area where you can walk through the outdoor shopping center. The quarter is gorgeous with fountains and enormous palm trees light with lights. It’s a really neat place to just walk around, stop into a few shows, and finish up your night at a movie. iPic theaters is the nicest theater I have ever been to. It is a very upclass environment with a lounge area to socialize before your show. Once you enter your theater you’ll find very plush and comfortable seats and lots of space so you are very comfortable for the show. You can book your tickets ahead of time and book your seats so you don’t have to worry about showing up early just to get a nice seat. We saw Snitch and really enjoyed the story of a dad willing to go to lengths to help his son with the storyline being based on a true story.
