10 Fashion Hacks and Tips
There are so many simple fashion tricks out there for keeping you looking your best. Sometimes the easiest things make the biggest difference. Here are 10 super easy fashion hacks or tips that save me some time or keep me looking put together.
I received compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.
Use a Sharpie for Quick Shoe Touch Ups- We have all been there, you look down at your favorite black heels and see that there is a big scuff or scratch in the leather. Have no fear, a sharpie will quickly disguise the blemish on your shoes.
Earrings In Ice Cube Trays- Can’t find a matching pair of earrings? Store your little jewels in ice cube trays. They easily fit in a drawer and keep everything separate and organized.
Dawn For Grease Stains- Use dawn dishwashing detergent on greasy stains. Just rub and let soak for a 10 minutes before throwing the item in the wash, it helps break down the grease.
Hangers Backwards- Can’t decide what clothes you should get rid of? Turn all your hangers around backwards. After you wear an item, turn the hanger the correct way. Anything still facing backwards after two months can be donated.
Tank Between layers- I love to layer button ups under everything. To cut back on the frumpy lines the leave, add a fitted tank between your layers. It will keep everything flat and in order. Kind of like Spanx for your shirt.
Iron Button Ups Inside out- Don’t you hate ironing around buttons and pockets? Flip your button up shirts inside out and iron right over top of them.
Vinegar For Jeans- Keep your jeans from fading by adding half a cup of vinegar to the wash. This will also help with those pesky dark jeans that bleed onto everything else.
Use Your Hair Straightener for Quick Wrinkle Fixes- I HATE ironing and use this quick fix while I am doing my hair ALL. THE. TIME. just use your hot straightener to quickly flatten a collar or frumpy button placket.
Clean Suede by using an Eraser- Scuffs and dirt on suede can be removed with an eraser. I always use a white eraser on lighter colors just to be sure there is no color transfer, but I have never actually had any problems with color transferring.
Gather Inspiration From Others- Sometimes all you need to love your wardrobe again is to gather a little inspiration from others. My favorite way to do this is with my ClosetSpace app.
ClosetSpace App includes features lets you store all the items from your closet and then remember favorite combinations and the last time your wore them. You can share your outfits with others and browse other peoples outfit posts as well. My favorite feature are the personal style boards created based on the current weather in your area and where you are going! Super handy when you are stuck in a style rut.
ClosetSpace also gives you access to ClosetSpace picks- this includes information about partnerships and discounts offering helpful services, like GLAMSQUAD and Urban Darling.
ClosetSpace is avaliable for free on Android here and iOS here.
