What’s In My Bag?

When I became a mom I decided against using a traditional diaper bag and chose a large purse instead. When I had my second baby just 18 months after the first I eventually switched to a diaper bag. I just had so much stuff that I needed to tote with two young children. There are so many great diaper bag options out there, but I still wished for my purse back! Now that my oldest is almost four, I have much less to carry around and I am back to carrying around a purse. I love it. Here is a peak into my mom essentials that I carry everywhere with me:

I received compensation and UrgentRx products in exchange for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.

Diapers and Wipes: This one is essential, am I right? I am thinking I am pretty close to being able to ditch these items as well, but for now we bring them everywhere we go! My general rule for heading out is one diaper for every hour we will be gone and ne extra. Yes, this is overkill, but if you have ever been stranded without diapers you know it is always better to be over prepared. We use wipes for EVERYTHING at our house so I am always well stocked and I keep an extra refill pack in the car.

Snacks and Water: Usually for me and my kids. It is really easy to find healthy portable snacks these days and no one wants to be out and about with a hungry toddler, or mama for that matter! I always toss in a few before we leave the house, they are handy to keep around. We live in the desert so hydration is a must. I always keep waters in my bag so that no one ends up thirsty!

My Phone:聽I don’t go anywhere without it. Not just because I like to be in touch and have a way to get a hold of someone in an emergency. My iPhone camera is top notch and I am constantly snapping photos of my little ones. Capturing our everyday moments together is my favorite.

A Toy: At least one small toy or book comes with me at all times. You never know when you are going to need something to keep little hands occupied in line at the store, in the car, or at the dr.’s office.

The usual necessities:聽Wallet, keys, lip balm/gloss, and planner. These are everyday essentials that every mom keeps around I think! I use both the planner on my phone (to sync with my husband) and a paper pencil version because I am old fashioned!

Secret Weapon: My UrgentRx wallet. Have you seen UrgentRx packets at your grocery store checkout line lately? UrgentRx is聽a line of fast-acting, potable OTC medications that provide fast acting relief for todays busy, on the go moms. These powders come in fast-acting single-dose, credit card-sized packets for easier portability and accessibility. This medicine works so fast, is pleasantly flavored and can be taken without water. They are perfect for the ailments that strike while you are out and about at work or at play.

UrgentRx offers relief packets for headaches, aches and pains, allergies, heartburn, and upset stomachs. I can’t tell you how many times I have grabbed a full bottle of medicine while out and about because I had a headache or a stomach ache and nothing to help me out on hand. What a waste of time and money. With UrgentRx in my purse I can always have relief on hand when I need it, without the bulk or rattling around of bottles in my bag.

Each individual package has directions for correct usage so you can always be sure to use it correctly. Plus, they are so slim you can easily tuck them into a small zipper pocket in your bag to keep them away from tiny hands.

  18. Urgent RX is really a good idea!! I already carry pain reliever around- I SHOULD be carrying baby aspirin, in all seriousness, at my age..heart attacks, you know…. So I should for real get the Aspirin RX. It really is an idea I should not merely think about.

  19. UrgentRx has the right idea. To answer your question, yes I have been running errands and needed just one heartburn med or headache med and ended up buying the whole bottle. The method make a whole lot more sense.

Currently my medication bottle stays in the car and it never fails I need something when I am not near the car.
