The Ultimate Stroller for Two: Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight

I received Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight Stroller in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own. Affiliate links are used below.

I am a mom of four with the oldest turning seven this fall. I’ve been through many different strollers trying to find the ultimate stroller for two or more kids as we have added children to our family. We started with a really heavy double stroller that was like a train trying to turn it – nearly impossible to move! After that, I decided I only wanted a single stroller. While I do still have a nice single stroller that I use whenever I can get away with it, there are always times that I need to push two kids. We’ve tried the BOB double jogging stroller. I really like the BOB, but it is so extremely big that it’s not practical for most occasions. It also is huge when folded and just isn’t the perfect solution for my family.

We even had a Joovy Caboose 3 or 4 years ago, and the model I used to have used a recline position when paired with an infant car seat which gave the rear seat no room at all. This meant it wasn’t the best fit when my youngest was under 6 months as my next oldest would be 2-2.5 and need to be sitting rather than standing most of the time. With the few simple improvements to the Joovy Caboose Too and the ultralight version, this is now what I consider the Ultimate Stroller for two kids!

There are a ton of different ways you can configure the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight stroller based on your kids ages and needs. I could have my nearly five year old using the sit/stand option and three year old sitting in the front seat and still be under the maximum weight limit of 90 lbs total. Or, use any other combination between my children. Most the time, my two youngest who are almost 1 and 3 riding in the stroller. I can switch them between the full seats or let my 3 year old use the sit/stand. I can even pop in my infant car seat if my youngest falls asleep in the car and be on my way with the three year old on the back.

Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight Configurations:

  • Infant car seat in front, full seat in the back
  • Infant car seat in front, standing on the platform in back
  • Both sitting in two forward facing seats – traditional double stroller
  • Sitting in front, rear facing platform seat for the back
  • Sitting in front, standing on the platform in back
  • Use the front seat for a child and the back platform as shopping storage

I really love the Joovy Caboose Too stroller. It’s really light at just 21 lbs (or 23 lbs with the additional full back seat attached). It feels just slightly longer than a regular single stroller so it is still really easy to maneuver. My kids all think it’s really fun to use the sit/stand platform so they can hop on and off the stroller to help pick up the mail, see animals at the zoo, or whatever else we may be doing. I love the option, too, because it means I don’t have to keep lifting or buckling my kids every other minute as they get on and off the stroller. The only downside is the under stroller storage is often blocked with a kid sitting on the platform, the bench slid in front of the basket for the standing platform, or your kids feet using the basket. I just clip my diaper bag to the side rails of the stroller which make it easy to get to and still secure since it is fastened tightly to the stroller. You can also sling your back over the handlebars when using the second full seat.

With all the different strollers I have tried, I feel like I have finally found the Ultimate Stroller for a mom with more than one kid with the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight stroller. With it’s price point at just $299, which blows the competition out of the water for such a customizable double stroller that will grow and change with you and your needs, it truly can’t be beat. You can also add the Caboose Too seat separately if you already have a Joovy Caboose stroller. I absolutely recommend this stroller to all moms!
