Sterling Books Review

I received both books in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

We love books at our house. As a school teacher I collected books with my future kids in mind and we have hundreds of them. My kids love being read to, they are so good at stalling bed time by asking for more stories, I just cant say no! The best thing about books is there are always more stories and adventures to add to your collection. Sterling Books is constantly adding new fun books for kids to the market, and we were happy to add some to our collection.

Pirates

The Buccaneering Book of Pirates- By Saviour Pirotta Illustrated by Mark Robertson

Ahoy, matey! The Buccaneering Book for Pirates is a must have if you have a pirate lover at your house. It contains six action packed high sea adventures including: Treasure Island, The Corsair Captain, The Captain’s Secret, Davy Jones’ Locker, The Pirate Queen, and A Royal Pardon. Each picture has great illustrations for your favorite little matey. The best part? Inside the front cover is a 3-D Pop-up Pirate poster that is over four feet tall, with lift-the-flaps and pockets containing treasures tucked inside.

Arlo’s ARTrageous Adventure! By David LaRochelle

If you ask a child their favorite place to go, an art museum is probably not the answer you will receive. Arlo’s is not excited when his grandma says they are headed to the art museum. He doesn’t have any choice in the matter though. To his surprise the paintings start coming to life in hilarious ways.

This lift-the-flap book has over 50 flaps that reveal funny surprises as you join Arlo and his grandmother on his tour of the art museum. Museums can be much more fun when you let your imagination run wild.

My son thinks this book is hilarious. We have read it so many times that he knows when his favorite flaps are coming, and he begins laughing before you even turn the page. The bright  illustrations are so fun, I can tell this will be a favorite for a long time to come. Arlo’s Grandmother mentions the opera at the end of the book and I hope we will be seeing much more of Arlo in the future.

These books have been such fun additions to our book collection and we will enjoy them many, many times. You can find these, and your other favorite, Sterling Books at your local bookstores or online here and here. Approximate retail value is $14.95-19.95.
