Saige American Girl Doll – 2013 Girl of the Year!

Saige American Girl Doll

American Girl just introduced the new 2013 Girl of the Year – Saige Copeland! Saige is, “a spirited girl whose passion inspires action. Saige shows girls that by drawing on your imagination, you can discover how creative you can be.” Like all Girl of the Year dolls, Saige will be available for just one year. She launched with two books that share her story and an activity book as well that encourages girls to use art, one of Saige’s passions, to discover something new about themselves. Along with the release of the 2013 Girl of the Year, American Girl also announced a grant contest for elementary schools to have the chance to win one of 13 grants worth in total $45,000! Schools can enter to win one of the Elevate the Arts School Grants by submitting a digital image of a hot-air-balloon themed art project along with a written essay that conveys why the arts matter in their school. Young girls will also be given the chance to share their artistic talents for a chance to win one of 10 Saige prize packages in the Soar With Saige Sweepstakes. It is simple to enter by submitting their colorful version of a hot-air-balloon print out image available on the American Girl website. The sweepstakes is open for entries through April 1st.

Saige American Girl Doll

The newest American Girl Doll, Saige, is absolutely gorgeous! She has beautiful long brown hair that’s done up in a twisting braid and adorable clothes with a New Mexico flair to them. One of my favorite features is her adorable little ring and cute earrings, too! Saige’s style and storyline really resonates with me living here in Arizona with similar landscapes, climates, and history that really make her so easy to relate to. I sent this beautiful doll along to a family with a girl perfectly aged to be inspired by and be able to enjoy Saige! The whole family loved her and were just as thrilled with all her special and unique features from darling boots to cute freckles. You won’t be disappointed by Saige’s beauty or her fun accessories she has available including a hot air balloon and a horse!

  1. Oh man, I wish you were doing a giveaway for this one! My daughter wants an American Girl so bad!

  2. Beautiful doll. My daughter would love this doll. Very southwestern feel to her.

  3. I love that she has brown hair and blue eyes, not the standard coloring for a lot of dolls.
