How to be more productive at work

Plan to succeed! Take 10-15 minutes at the beginning of each day to write down the most important things you have to do each day. At the end of each week, make time to project what you’ll need to have done by the end of the following week. That way you’ll have projects in focus and taking the time to make the list gives you a chance to reflect so you don’t forget anything.

Diminish time wasters! Throughout the day, ask yourself if what you are doing right then is productive or not; make a sticky note with that question as a reminder. Instant messaging, email, phone calls and even conversation with your coworkers can suck time out of your budget, so watch the amount of time spent on these tasks.

Productive at Work

Turn off and tune out! Sometimes you just have to turn off all electronic devices, email, instant messaging and your phone to get things done. Working people will understand your need to not be interrupted. Schedule breaks to make quick replies to messages so you are not completely out of the loop. Focus on one tasks at a time – multitasking decreases productivity.

Take a break! When you are stressed, your productivity decreases. While it seems that stopping work is counter-intuitive, you actually gain momentum because you are able to clear your mind. A refreshed perspective can lead to breakthroughs on tough projects.

Have a Snack and Water Ready – Keeping a healthy snack and a bottle of water nearby will eliminate the need to get up to grab a bite. Keeping hydrated will also increase productivity. The snack will keep a rumbling tummy at bay and keep your mind from wondering how much longer until your lunch break.

Get Comfortable! If you’re constant scrunched over your desk or have your eyes staring into a bright monitor, you won’t be as productive at work. Take breaks for your eyes by looking away to the farthest thing you can see and focusing on the object for a few seconds to stretch your eyes. Likewise, stretching your muscles is important, too. Keeping moving throughout the day can have a big impact on your ability to stay focused on your work.

Swopper Keeps You Moving

I’ve been testing out a Classic Swopper seat. It’s a really unique designed office chair that helps keep you moving throughout your work day to help you stay active. It can help you by bouncing, swaying, and can even help encourage you to stand throughout the day.

The Classic Swopper can be adjusted in three different ways to make it fit perfectly within your work space. You can adjust the height to make it comfortable for use at a counter height dining table or lower it down to a typical office desk. Then, there are adjustment dials that increase or decrease the vertical (up and down) bounce as well as another dial that controls the tension for forward and backward movements. You can set up your Swopper to give you just enough bounce and tension to keep you moving through the day without feeling like you’re going to bounce your way off of the seat.

Our chair arrived just before baby #5, and I loved used it while pregnant, especially. It gives you a lot of the feel of a yoga ball, without rolling away and being so low to the ground. I have continued to use the seat whenever I can sneak it away from my boys. It is such a unique chair that everyone who comes by asks me about the chair and has to try it out.

My favorite part of the seat is that you can lean it forward towards where you are working so I no longer hunch over my computer! It also doubles as a workout, without feeling like one. Since you’re balancing and supporting yourself and slightly moving throughout the day your body you’re working those muscles!

If you have a goal to stay more active and keep moving this new year, check out Swopper! They make it easy to stay moving where you would normally sit hunched over at a desk. Visit their website to learn more about the benefits of staying moving at work, too.

These tips can help you to get more value out of your time spent at work. Investing the time to set yourself up for success will pay off with increased output and decreased stress.

Strength your back, would help with your posture; suede seat and colors that can match any decor. Would love to have one, thanks for the opportunity.

This would really help when I have my long days in my craft room with circulation and comfort easing back pain and restlessness with aches and pains from sitting uncomfortably with other chairs.

I can believe that it will strengthen my back but I never though it would enable one to make deeper breaths! That makes since since it helps your core. Neat chair!
