Halloween Tradition: Trunk or Treat Halloween Party

#Endorsed – I am part of the Toyota #SiennaDiaries blogging team on behalf of TMS/USA. I will be test driving this 2014 Toyota Sienna through the end of 2013. All opinions are my own.

We have a Halloween Tradition that every year we join in with our church group and meet together to throw a fun Halloween party that is open to the public. The party starts with a meal, usually a chili cook-off or something similar, includes some fun games and activities for the kids, and then the kids get to “trick-or-treat” from trunk to trunk lined up in the parking lot. We call it a “Trunk or Treat“. It’s my very favorite Halloween tradition as it is always so much fun!

We had so much fun decking out the Sienna and it was so helpful that the car has a built in plug-in port in the trunk area so we could plug in the Christmas lights and a string of ghosts that really lived up our trunk! We finished off the decor with pumpkins, bones and spooky spiderwebs. I may be a little bit biased, but I think our trunk turned out the best! It was so fun looking!

Of course, a Halloween party meant we needed awesome costumes! Our crew included a team of Avengers: The Hulk, Iron Man, and Captain America. Somehow, I didn’t get a picture of my four year old dressed up in his Captain America costume that night. I joined in with my boys and dressed up as Black Widow. My youngest had to wear our Dumbo costume, all of my kids have worn this costume when they were 1 year old!

Our Toyota Sienna made it super easy to set up for the party with automatic doors for when we were juggling the decorations, Aux connection so we could use our smartphone to play spooky melodies, and a backup camera that helped keep the kids safe when it was time to leave.

If you’re looking for a fun Halloween Party idea for this year, call your neighborhood or community group together, line up your trunks for some “Trunk or Treat” fun for the kids. We absolutely love this tradition as it’s a fun, safe, and unique way to celebrate the holiday!

Head over to Toyota’s website to learn more about the 2014 Toyota Sienna and see how it might be the perfect vehicle for your family. It comes in a range of gorgeous colors, including the deep black color we are test driving.
