Christmas Vase Centerpiece + Printable

We got married just before Christmas. It’s a fun, but busy, time of year. This year will be our 10th Anniversary! It’s an exciting milestone to reach. To keep some romance alive, despite the holidays, my husband likes to buy me flowers. I’m always looking ways to repurpose something, and found a bottle of sparkling cider we had laying around and thought it would make a wonderful vase for just a few single stems that don’t typically hold well in a vase. I dressed it up with some vinyl, and turned the waste into a cute, and simple, Christmas vase and centerpiece!

You’ll need:

  • Empty glass bottle
  • Vinyl
  • Vinyl cutter
  • Contact paper
  • Flowers

Christmas Vase

Start by printing out your design using your vinyl cutter. I have the Cricut Explore and it does a great job cutting out the vinyl and is pretty easy to use. You can grab my “Merry Christmas” printable down at the bottom of this post, or come up with your own.

Once the vinyl is cut, weed away the excess vinyl, and transfer the design right onto the bottle using contact paper. Once you’ve moved the vinyl onto contact paper and lined it up onto your glass bottle, just press firmly and then slowly peel back the contact paper making sure the vinyl is sticking onto the bottle and not pulling up with the contact paper.

In the end, your words will look like this! It add that pop of color and if you use a sparkling cider bottle like I did, you’ll have a gorgeous dark green backdrop that’s perfect for the season.

I have three separate image files. You can download this printable as the full saying “Merry Christmas” and print it asis or use it with a single color of vinyl. Or, you can download the red and green parts separated if you want to cut out vinyl in two different colors. Click on any of the links below to be taken to the full size image where you can right click and save the image to your computer.
