Man oh man, it is definitely cold and cough season! I feel like the same cold has been circulating around and around the neighborhood. No one can seem to shake it and it just leaves you feeling so miserable and tired! It made its way around our house and I wished more than anything I could call in sick to work and just curl up in bed and sleep! Unfortunately, as a stay at home mom, calling in sick isn’t really an option and even though I felt awful, there were still meals to be made, train tracks to be built, and stories to be read.
I received compensation and samples for this post, all opinions are my own.
A few weeks down the road I heard that my friend’s house was suffering from a similar fate, I knew I had to do something to help! While I couldn’t take her sick kids off her hands I could set her up for a more comfortable stay at home. I made her this basket of goodies that I can’t live without when I am sick:
To make this basket for a friend you will need:
Sick Day Survival Kit Tag (adjust to whatever size and print!)
A box of tissues
A can of soup
A water bottle
A good book and/or movie
Some chocolate
Other items that would be good are socks, chapstick, some crackers, or a magazine.
Chloraseptic is the *pharmacist’s number 1 recommended sore throat relief brand! It always comes to the rescue at our house. Whatever your needs are, they have something to give you relief when you need it most. Wether it is a coating throat spray or a lozenge with soothing liquid center, they will get you back in the action faster than anyone else! Available in a variety of flavors, including a Grape spray for children ages 3+, both the throat sprays and lozenges are portable and convenient for on-the-go relief.
(*Lozenges tied for #1)
One of the coolest things that Chloraseptic offers is their Cold & Flu Tracker found here on their website. Using this tool you can see where in the country the flu is hitting the hardest and check outbreaks and symptoms in your local area. Such a great resource, I find it especially handy during times when I am traveling! Find out more about Chloraseptic on their website or Facebook page.

This is a really thoughtful gift for someone feeling sick. When I catch a bug, I just try to sleep it off as much as possible.
