Easy shopping with Target Shipt #AD

I was recently stuck in the house with sick kiddos. It was the kind of virus that takes your kids down one by one, which means that we have had a sick house for almost two weeks. It had been WAY overdue for a grocery trip, but with sick kids, I just hadn’t been able to get to the store…at all! We were down to eating peanut butter sandwiches for dinner and ramen noodles, and I desperately wanted to make a real meal again. It was during these two weeks that I was introduced to Shipt.com, and I was HOOKED from the first moment!

Shipt.com is an amazing grocery delivery service that has saved my family! Let me tell you a little bit how it works:

Through Shipt’s mobile or desktop app, members  can browse quite a selection of grocery items available at the local grocery store. (Shipt is a membership-based service. For just $99 per year, Shipt members receive unlimited grocery deliveries on all orders over $35. You can start off with a two week free trial just to check it out.) It was so easy to browse everything my local Target had to offer for my much needed grocery trip. Once you’ve finished shopping and created your order,  you choose a convenient one-hour delivery window. The part that amazed me was that the delivery options were available as soon as 1 hour from when I was shopping!

It was so nice to shop online and get my groceries in just a couple hours! After the order is processed, a Shipt Shopper visits the store (in my case Target) to hand pick and deliver all my items. I received a text from my Shipt Shopper when my order was finished being picked and out for delivery. This was such a lifesaver with sick kids at home. By the time everyone else got home from work and school I had groceries, and dinner cooking without leaving the house at all! My Shipt Shopper was quick on the delivery, right in the timeframe scheduled, and I was off making an overdue yummy dinner in no time!

I couldn’t have been happier with my Shipt Shopper and all my groceries that my family most desperately needed. (yes, maybe there was some chocolate that I NEEDED after having sick kids in the house for weeks!)

I can’t believe that Shipt.com has been around since 2014, servicing tens of millions of households across the US. I also was amazed that you can order fresh produce in your Shipt shopping order. I’ll definitely be using this service again and again and again!

I also wanted to share with our readers what I ended up making that night with my wonderful Shipt groceries:

Pepperoni Calzones

Dough Ingredients:

  • 2-2 1/4 c flour
  • 1 Tbl active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Little less than 1 c water
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Dough Directions:

  1. Add yeast and sugar to warm water. Activate.
  2. Add oil and 1/2 flour, mix.
  3. Add remaining flour and salt, mix.
  4. Knead for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Rise for 10 minutes.

Filling Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 c pepperoni (diced)
  • 1/2 c shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Tbl dried basil leaves
  • OPTIONAL: mushrooms, sausage, olives, etc. marinara and cheese for optional toppings)

Filling Directions:

  1. mix all ingredients and refrigerate

Calzone Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Divide the dough into however many calzones (3-4 large) you want.
  3. Roll out into a circle.
  4. Put filling in middle, fold in half.
  5. Cut into a calzone shape.
  6. Press around the edges with a fork.
  7. Place on a parchment paper lined pan and bake for about 20 minutes. If you are topping with marinara and cheese, bake for 15 minutes, top with marinara and cheese and continue baking for 5 more minutes.

My kids aren’t fans of the marinara topped calzones (although my husband and I love those), but they can’t get enough of the plain ones. Everyone was extremely grateful for a home cooked meal after having a sick house for weeks and I am extremely grateful for Shipt.com that allowed me to get some much needed groceries delivered right to our house. It was a lifesaver!
