Fun for the whole family: SeaWorld San Diego

I received complimentary SeaWorld tickets in compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.

A few weeks ago, my family had the opportunity to soak up some sun in San Diego, California. One of our favorite San Diego adventures included visiting SeaWorld. We were extremely lucky to share our SeaWorld experience with my husband’s entire side of the family. What most impressed me was the variety of activities suitable for every age. The rides were thrilling, the exhibits – incredible, and the shows proved captivating. Our SeaWorld experience will be remembered for years to come.

We started off our SeaWorld experience by riding the roller coaster Journey to Atlantis. To say the least, Journey to Atlantis was a crowd pleaser; exiting passengers were all smiles (not to mention drenched to the bone). After riding Atlantis, my nephews exclaimed “That was AWESOME! (insert fist pump here) Can we ride it again?”

Although Journey to Atlantis’ 60 foot drop was thrilling, the Manta roller coaster was my absolute favorite. I loved this ride so much, I rode 3 times. Off to a plunging start, the Manta allows you to soar, twist, and turn, just like a manta ray swimming through the ocean.

I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough activities to keep my 14 month old happy; boy was I wrong. Visiting SeaWorld’s many exhibits, my toddler would gasp with excitement and point viewing each new attraction. My son adored being able to interact and touch dolphins and manta rays.

He giggled watching people feed the otters and couldn’t get over the enormous size of the beluga whales. Watching the penguins play with each other and quickly dive under water was another family favorite. I love how most of the exhibits allows you to view these animals from ground level as well as underwater. The multiple views provides the chance to get close and really experience the beauty of each animal.

Experiencing the shows “One Ocean” and “Blue Horizon” was the absolute highlight of my SeaWorld experience. Watching the dolphins jump in the air, give kisses, and perform tricks blew my mind. Call me crazy, but watching the whales perform almost made me shed a tear; I have never seen such a beautiful and majestic creature. Each performance told a captivating story using lighting, amazing music, and of course the sea animals. I could have sat and watched these shows all day!
