Easy Fall Decorating Ideas: Pumpkin Toilet Paper Rolls

It is always fun to decorate for the holidays! When you’re home is ready, it brings in the excitement of the upcoming holiday as you start your own mini countdowns for all the fall fun that is right around the corner. While it’s great to pull out our tote of store bought decor, often it’s the inexpensive and easy fall decorating ideas that we add to personalize our home that make the biggest difference.

I’m going to show you how to add in a splash of color into your bathrooms this fall with a craft that takes literally minutes and costs just a dollar or two! You can’t beat that! So, without further ado, here’s my pumpkin toilet paper rolls!

Pumpkin Toilet Paper Rolls

To get started, you will need to purchase a package of tissue paper. Choose something with fall colors that has the main focus color as orange to help your rolls look like pumpkins. You can certainly look for tissue paper that has fun patterns or designs like stripes, dots, or others. You will also need to gather rolls of toilet paper, a couple of sticks from around your yard, and leaves. For the leaves, you can use something from your yard artificial leaves, or make some leaves out of a piece of felt. Just use what you’ve got around your home!

Supplies Needed:

  • Tissue Paper
  • Toilet Paper Rolls
  • Sticks
  • Leaves

Halloween Toilet Paper Roll Pumpkins

To assemble your rolls, you want your piece of tissue to be square so you don’t end up with too much extra paper making your pumpkin look bulky. If you are using the smaller tissue paper sheets, that size works perfectly! Just fold over the last 6″ or so and cut off that edge making your remaining tissue approximately a square. You don’t need to be a perfectionist as you won’t see the edges. Place your toilet paper roll in the center of your tissue paper before cutting and pull up the edges to make sure it will be big enough, but not too big.

Once your tissue paper is to size, pull up the tissue paper over the sides of the toilet paper roll and tuck the corners and any excess into the top of the roll. When folding up your tissue paper, you can tuck extra tissue paper that starts to form as you pull up the edges behind the front piece of the tissue paper that will show. Think of it a bit like wrapping the last edge of your presents, you tuck some of the paper behind and then fold over the flap to cover your last corner. If that sounds confusing, don’t worry, just pull up all the tissue paper and tuck it into the top of the roll.

Halloween Bathroom Decor

Finally, add in a stick or a small cluster of sticks to the top of the roll and your leaves of choice. I used grape leaves from our garden as that is what I had on hand but you can also make your own leaves cutting out a piece of green felt or by grabbing an artificial leave that won’t dry out on you. There you have it, now you have a cute way to disguise your toilet paper rolls in the bathroom and make your decor both functional and fun!
