A “Must Have” Toy & Haba Review

I LOVE having a seven month old little boy. Every stage of his life has been fun, new, and exciting. However, so far, seven months is my favorite age. Every single day he discovers more and more of this beautiful world. I adore watching his curious mind experiment through touch, taste, sound, and sight. I can sit him on the floor, give him a toy, and he is able to entertain himself for hours. Rattles, soft animals, and large colored balls are among his favorite toys. However, nothing makes him happier than playing with his Romeo Toad.

The first time my son saw Haba Lilliputiens Romeo Toad, he honestly started squealing. As I placed the toad in his outreached arms, he was instantly entertained. The first time I laid eyes on this toad, my expression matched my son’s as I exclaimed “This is the CUTEST toy I have ever seen in my entire life!” To say the least, this Toad has become an instant “favorite” in our home.

Haba is the exclusive US distributor of Lilliputiens, a Belgium based toy line. Lilliputiens’ characters cater to toddlers and babies. Designed by five trendy mothers, these creatures include a variety of fabric, textures, and patterns. These one of a kind handcrafted toys each come with a different story and grouping/collection of other toys associated with the character.

The handsome toad Romeo has a huge mouth in which he collects a fish, crab, jellyfish, and fly. This funny toad is made from a variety of textures and produces many fun sounds. Romeo’s feet crinkle, rattle, and croak. This bright colored toy also includes a mirror on his belly. Also made from an assortment of textures, the accompanying creatures rattle, squeak, and crinkle.

Romeo, the humorous toad, brings a huge smile to my son’s face. He loves touching Romeo’s bumpy tongue and get’s a kick out of his croak. Easy to hold and transport, Romeo’s soft belly is perfect for snuggling. Each of the fun characters that appear from inside of Romeo’s large mouth provide my baby with a different experience. My son holds the fly in between his fingers and loves hearing the crinkling noise the wings make. The ribbons attached to the jellyfish intrigue his mind. Every time I squeeze the red fish, the squeak makes my son laugh. The bumpy crab is the perfect size for him to grasp and feel in his small hands.

As a mother, I want what’s best for my baby; including the best toys. I truly feel Haba’s Lilliputiens Romeo Toad is a “win win” toy. Not only is this toad colorful and adorable, but Romeo stimulates my son’s mind through site, sound, and touch. I love that the creatures fit perfectly inside of Romeo’s mouth providing easy organization and cleanup. Most importantly my son discovers and activates his mind when he plays with Romeo Toad.
